Contagio y reinfecciones

El VSR puede afectar a todas las edades y circular dentro del hogar.

Primer contacto: la infancia

La mayoría de las personas contrae VSR en la infancia. En guarderías y escuelas, el virus se transmite con facilidad 2.

Transmisión en el hogar

Los niños pueden llevar el virus a casa. En el hogar, adultos mayores y personas con enfermedades crónicas pueden tener mayor riesgo de complicaciones2.

Complicaciones y reinfecciones

En algunos casos el VSR puede provocar bronquiolitis o neumonía. Además, puede presentarse más de una vez a lo largo de la vida 7.
